High Availability Testing
12.1 Objective
The primary objective of High Availability testing was to verify that the ERPNext service remained accessible during application server failures.
12.2 Test Procedure
The following procedure was adopted:
Access ERPNext through HAProxy.
Shut down one application VM.
Observe HAProxy behaviour.
Verify continued client access.
Restart the failed VM.
Confirm automatic reintegration.
12.3 Test Results
When one application virtual machine was stopped, HAProxy detected that the backend had become unavailable.
Subsequent requests were automatically redirected to the remaining healthy application servers without requiring manual intervention.
Once the virtual machine recovered through Proxmox High Availability, HAProxy automatically resumed forwarding requests to that server.
12.4 Proxmox HA Validation
The High Availability manager successfully demonstrated:
Automatic VM restart
Automatic VM relocation
Continuous monitoring
Resource recovery
These tests confirmed that Proxmox HA and HAProxy complement each other to provide application continuity.
